This year, Wolverine Pipe Line Company (Wolverine) will be hosting virtual training meetings for emergency personnel in Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. Area emergency responders are invited to participate in these virtual training sessions for a pipeline safety refresher training and table-top drill. Wolverine recognizes that it takes a partnership to keep the communities where we live and work safe, and part of that partnership is our responsibility to educate those in the first line of response on pipeline safety protocol. Our goal with the trainings is to make connections with emergency responders while providing an opportunity to work through a scenario-based pipeline emergency exercise.

During the training, attendees can expect to be introduced to Wolverine Pipe Line Company personnel, learn about the products Wolverine transports, and up-to-date safety protocols. After which, attendees will discuss the different types of responses to a pipeline emergency based upon the products, their hazards, and other characteristics.
Through a virtual incident scenario and on-scene chemistry and hazmat basics, attendees will be equipped with the knowledge they need to respond to emergencies. Additionally, training will include safe digging practices in line with 811 that help prevent emergencies from happening.
